The Six Levels

Not levels. Situations, and the things underneath them.

Three shapes, one subject. The six levels are the path already built — ten-minute lessons with a workbook each, taken whenever the time is yours, no schedule and no expiry. The coaching is a path built for you instead: private sessions shaped by your level, your goals, and how you actually plan to use Korean. Write-to-Speak is that second one turned around — you write first, I mark it during the week, and the session is spent saying your own sentences out loud.

The levels are numbered, but they are a sequence rather than a grammar syllabus. Both are built out of the same situations, which is the part that takes longest to learn anywhere else.

Three pages. Pick one — the others are always a click back.

Six levels, 47 lessons, about ten minutes each. One path, in order, with a workbook at every step — so you always know what the next thing is.

The path

Each level changes one thing about you.

Not “beginner, intermediate, advanced” — those words describe a shelf, not a person. Here is what is actually different about you at the end of each one.

  1. You can read it

    Hangul, signs, menus. Seven days.

  2. You can get through a day

Order, pay, ask directions, say your name.

  3. You understand what they actually said

Real speed, real endings, not textbook Korean.

  4. You build your own sentences

Because, but, if — your ideas, chained.

  5. The conversation keeps going

React, add, ask back — without freezing.

  6. You sound like you mean it

Register, honorifics, 눈치, the precise word.

Find your level

Most people start at 0 or 1.

Tick the hardest thing on this list you can genuinely do today — not the one you could do with a dictionary and ten minutes.

Nearly everyone places themselves one level too high. It’s the single most common reason people stall.

What one lesson looks like

Ten minutes of video, then something to do.

A video you watch once, a page you keep, and a workbook that makes you produce the thing rather than recognise it. Recognition is what makes people think they know Korean.

The words
Ten, with how they sound and a real example each.
The scene
A dialogue you’ll actually be inside one day.
The pattern
One grammar point, explained by why — not by rule.
The workout
Writing and speaking, in my voice first, then yours.

From students on the course

What people say when I ask properly.

  • “The videos are short, and Rok's explanations are engaging — he presents the information like a story and speaks at a pace that allows me to grasp everything immediately. After a long day of work and study, I actually consider watching these videos a prize.”
    S · studying while working
  • “Before taking your class, I tried learning Korean through apps like Pimsleur and Duolingo; however, they couldn't provide the human connection, cultural insights, or personalized guidance that come from learning with a native Korean teacher.”
    El SalvadorLucie · El Salvador
  • “Your patience, encouragement, and positive energy create a welcoming environment where making mistakes feels like part of the learning process instead of something to fear.”

Questions

The ones I get before people buy.

What if I pick the wrong level?
The levels build on each other, so nothing you bought is wasted — message me and I'll tell you where to actually start.
How long do I have access?
Forever. One payment, no subscription, no expiry date.
Do I have to do them in order?
It's strongly recommended — but skip Level 0 if you already read 한글 comfortably.
Can I ask questions while I study?
Yes — in the Maru community, or message me directly. The lessons are all in English.

Still not sure which one?

Watch the first lesson of Level 0 and Level 1. They’re free, and ten minutes will settle it faster than I can.
